Offered is this lovely set of TWELVE demitasse coffee cups and saucers made in Limoges, France, by Tressemann and Vogt about 1907. This fine porcelain china is decorated with a wide border design of pink roses with blue blossoms and green foliage. The floral decoration encircles each cup and the rim of each saucer. The outside of each cup has been glazed with a pale ivory band with a pearl finish.The same ivory glaze encircles the rim of the saucers. The outside edges are trimmed with a red and goldenrod border design, then gold. The demi cups measure 2.25 inches in diameter (5.5 cm) and stand 2 inches high (5 cm). They will hold 3 ounces of espresso or other after-dinner coffee. The cups also could be used to serve hot tea at grandmother's tea party. The saucers measure almost 5 inches in diameter (12.5 cm). Based on some of the back marks, this set was made as a special order for Sterns Brothers of New York.
These cups and saucers are in very good condition for their years. Gold trim in very good condition. More items will be listed as time allows.
