Meissen Hand Painted Purple Rose & Floral Coffee Cup & Saucer Circa 1740-1750s

  

Decorated with hand painted purple, yellow, blue, orange, and black and red flowers. With small purple flowers down the handle of the cup. Trimmed along the edges in brown.

Marked on the bottom with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark used by the royal Meissen factory. Has 4 very small discolored hairlines extending off the lip of the cup and a small chip to the lip near the handle, a stacking flake to the foot rim of the saucer, and some wear to the enamel on the edge. The cup measures approximately 3 7/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 3/4 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 1/4 inches wide.
